Celebrations are great ways of spending fun time together and building relation-ships. Both Easter and Bangla New Year 1425 were such occasions. Celebrations mark time and help us plan our lives.
Celebrations help us remember. Many people my age know approximately how old they are from their age at the time of Independence in 1971. At Easter we remember what God has done for us when he gave his life so that we may live forever with Him.
Celebrations help us appreciate. We appreciate the culture of Bangladesh and the mixing of cultures that the Bangla New Year represents. Celebrations inspire us to be the best we can be. We are grateful for the year that has gone and for the new one that has begun. At the school we seek to be learners, growing in understanding, skills and knowledge.
Last month I said there were five things I want to see in teachers and I mentioned two: Love for God and Love for God’s creation – including each of the students at our school, just the way God made them. A third quality we look for in staff at school is a learning attitude, demonstrated through asking and encouraging questions, admitting and correcting mistakes, preparing lessons and through personal study.
উৎসব হচ্ছে একসঙ্গে মজার সময় কাটানোর এবং সর্ম্পক নির্মাণের ভালো একটি উপায়। ইস্টার/পূনুরুত্থান এবং বাংলা নবর্বষ ১৪১৫ উভয়ই এই রকমের উৎসব ছিল। উদ্যাপন সময় চিহ্নিত করে এবং আমাদের জীবনের পরিকল্পনা করতে সাহায্য করে।
উদ্যাপন আমাদেরকে মনে করিয়ে দিতে সাহায্য করে। আমার বয়সের অনেকে জানেন যে ১৯৭১ সালের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধের সময় থেকে এখন তাদের বয়স কত। ইস্টারে/পুনুরুত্থানে ঈশ্বর আমাদের জন্য কি করেছেন তা স্মরণ করি, তিনি আমাদের জন্য তার জীবন দিয়েছিলেন যেন আমরা তাঁর সাথে চিরকাল বাস করতে পারি।
উদ্যাপন আমাদের কদর বুঝতে সাহায্য করে। আমরা বাংলাদেশের সংস্কৃতির সমাদর করি এবং সংস্কৃতির মিশ্রণ যা বাংলা নববর্ষ তুলে ধরে। উৎসব আমাদেরকে আমাদের সাধ্যের সেরাটা হবার জন্য অনুপ্রাণিত করে। যে বছরটি চলে গেছে এবং নতুন যে বছরটি শুরু হয়েছে আমরা তার জন্য কৃতজ্ঞ। স্কুলে আমরা শিক্ষার্থী হতে, বুঝতে, দক্ষতাই এবং জ্ঞানে বৃদ্ধির চেষ্টা করি।
শিক্ষকদের মধ্যে যে আমি পাঁচটি বিষয় আমি দেখতে চাই তার মধ্যে দু’টি বিষয় আমি গতবার উল্লেখ করেছিলাম: ঈশ্বরকে ভালবাসা এবং ঈশ্বরের সৃষ্টির জন্য প্রেম –স্কুলে প্রত্যেক ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদেরও, ঈশ্বর যেভাবে সৃষ্টি করেছেন সেভাবেই তাদের ভালোবাসা। তৃতীয়ত্ব আমরা স্কুলের স্টাফদের মাঝে প্রশ্ন করার এবং করতে উৎসাহ দানের মাধ্যমে, ভুল স্বীকার এবং সংশোধনের মাধ্যমে, নিজে পড়াশনা করে পাঠ প্রস্তুতি নেয়ার মাধ্যমে শেখার মানসিকতা দেখতে চাই।
Exams
Grade 9 students will begin their exams on the 22nd of May, Tuesday. For the week of 20th -24th May, attendance is very important for all students as some English exams and other assessments will be taking place. Our exam week for G1-9 students will 27th – 31st May. There will not be any regular classes for Preschool or Kindergarten during this week. LAMB School exam schedule will be published soon and sent home with students.

গ্রেড ৯-এর শিক্ষার্থীদের পরীক্ষা২২শেমে রোজ মঙ্গলবার থেকেশুরুহবে।২০শে মে হতে ২৪শে মে মধ্যবর্তী সময়ের উপস্থিতি সকল ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের জন্য অনেক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ, কারণ এ সময়ে কিছু ইংরেজি পরীক্ষা এবং অন্যান্য বিষয়ের মূল্যায়ন করা হবে ।
২৭-৩১শে মে গ্রেড ১-৯ শিক্ষার্থীদের পরীক্ষার সপ্তাহ । এ সময়ে প্রিস্কুল এবং কিন্ডারগার্টেন শ্রেণীর কোন ক্লাস হবে না । ল্যাম্ব স্কুলের পরীক্ষার সময় সূচী শীঘ্রই প্রকাশ করা হবে এবং ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের হাতে তাদের বাসায় পাঠানো হবে ।

Calendar
Please be informed that school will be closed from 29th April Sunday through 3rd May for the occasions of Buddha Purnima, May Day and Shab-E-Barat. Please also note that LAMB school classes will finish on 11th June with a ½ day and certificates will be given to students in this time. There is no closing evening program planned this year because this will be during the time of Ramadan.

অনুগ্রহ করে জেনে রাখুন যে, স্কুল ২৯শে এপ্রিল রোজ রবিবার থেকে ৩রা মে বৌদ্ধ পূর্ণিমা, মে দিবস এবং শব-ই-বরাত উপলক্ষ্যে বন্ধ থাকবে । অনুগ্রহ করে লক্ষ্য করুন যে, ১১ই জুন অর্ধ কর্ম দিবসে ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের হাতে সনদপত্র বিতরণের মাধ্যমে এই সেমিষ্টার এবং ঐ দিনের ক্লাসের সমাপ্তি হবে।সমাপনী অনুষ্ঠানের তারিখ রমজানের মাসে পড়ায় এবার সন্ধ্যাকালীন কোন সমাপনী অনুষ্ঠান হবে না ।
Reminder to parents
Reminder to all parents, LAMB’s rule is that children should go directly home after school and can come back to play on the playground after 5pm. After classes are dismissed parents need to know where their children are and take responsibility for them.
মনে রাখার বিষয়
অভিভাবকদের মনে করিয়ে দিই যে, স্কুল নিয়মনুসারে ছেলেমেয়েদেরকে অবশ্যই ক্লাশের পর বাড়ী যেতে হবে এবং খেলাধুলার জন্য বিকেল ৫ টার পর মাঠে আসতে পারবে। ক্লাশ শেষ হবার পর পিতামাতাকে জানতে হবে যে তাদের সন্তান কোথায় আছে এবং তাদের দায়িত্ব নিতে হবে।
Students
We have said good bye to our 3 O’level candidates: Tamim, Susmoy and Josiah. They are going to start their exams on 3rd May 2018 in Dinajpur. Please pray for peace of heart and good health as they take these. In March we also said goodbye to Tanzim and Shuvo from Grade 4,to Bushra from Pre-school and Shanto from Grade 1.

আমরা আমাদের তিনজন“ও”লেভেল পরীক্ষার্থী তামিম, সুস্ময় এবং যোশিয়কে বিদায় জানিয়েছি। তারা দিনাজপুরে ৩রা মে ২০১৮ তারিখে তাদের পরীক্ষা শুরু করতে যাচ্ছে।এ পরীক্ষার সময়ে তাদের অন্তরের শান্তি এবং সুস্বাস্থ্যের জন্য অনুগ্রহ করে প্রার্থনা করুন। এই মার্চে আমরা ৪ গ্রেডের তানজিম, ৪ গ্রেডের শুভ এবং প্রি-স্কুলে বুসরা ও গ্রেড১ এর শান্তকে বিদায় জানিয়েছি।
Fees
The school fees for the upcoming year 2018-19 were announced at the Annual General Meeting in the end of March. All parents have received a letter showing the fee schedule for their child(ren), LAMB staff general stipend or any other stipend awarded (if applicable) will be shown in this letter. If you are LAMB Staff, fees will be deducted from your salary in the months listed. If you are planning to transfer your child from LAMB School and fill in a transfer request form before 10 May 2018 you will not be charged the non-refundable registration fees and monthly fees for 2018-19.

আগামী ২০১৮-১৯ শিক্ষাবর্ষের স্কুল ফি মার্চের শেষে অনুষ্ঠিত সাধারাণ বার্ষিক সভায় জানানো হয়েছে। সকল পিতা-মাতা মে মাসের প্রথম দিকে ছেলেমেয়েদের ফি সর্ম্পকিত একটি চিঠি দেয়া হয়েছে, সাধারণ ল্যাম্ব স্টাফ বৃত্তি বা অন্যান্য বৃত্তি পেয়ে থাকলে (প্রযোজ্যক্ষেত্রে) তা এ চিঠিতে উল্লেখ করা আছে। আপনি ল্যাম্ব স্টাফ হলে, তালিকায় উল্লেখিত মাস গুলিতে ফি সমূহ আপনার বেতন থেকে কর্তন করা যাবে। যদিআপনারা আগষ্টে আপনাদের ছেলেমেয়েদের ল্যাম্ব স্কুল হতে অনত্র্য নেওয়ার পরিকল্পনা করে থাকেন এবং যদি ট্রান্সফার ফর্ম ১০ই মে ২০১৮ আগে পূরন করে জমা দেন তবে অফেরতযোগ্য রেজিস্ট্রেশন ফি এবং ২০১৮-১৯ বর্ষের মাসিক ফি র্চাজ করা হবে না।
Staff and Visitors
We have been grateful for the help of Orgha Roy for February, March and part of April. He is planning to travel to Malaysia for further studies. We wish him God’s blessings as he goes.
We are also sorry to announce that Auntie Samira Nafis has decided to move back to Dhaka at the end of June. We will miss her and pray for God to bless her. We are grateful for the years she has served at LAMB school as a teacher and as Acting Head of Upper School.

ফেব্রুয়ারী, মার্চ, এপ্রিলের কিছুসময়ে অর্ঘ্য রায়ের প্রাপ্ত সাহায্যের জন্য আমরা কৃতজ্ঞ । সে পড়াশুনার জন্য মালোয়শিয়ার যাওয়ার পরিকল্পনা করছেন। ঈশ্বর যেন তাকে তার যাত্রায় আর্শীবাদ করুন।
আমরা এর সাথে দুঃখের সাথে জানতে চায় যে, আন্টি সামিরা জুনের শেষের দিকে ঢাকা ফিরে যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছেন। আমরা তার অনুপস্থিতি অনুভব করবো এবং ঈশ্বরের কাছে তার আর্শীবাদের জন্য প্রার্থনা করবো। বিগত বছরে ল্যাম্ব স্কুলে একজন শিক্ষক এবং আপার স্কুলের ভারপ্রাপ্ত হেড হিসেবে যে সেবা দান করেছেন তার জন্য আমরা তার কাছে কৃতজ্ঞ।
SAC Representative and SAC Meeting
Thank you for your participation in choosing the next School Advisory Committee parent representative. We are please to announce that Sarah Marandy has been selected. Any parents are welcome to contact her if they want to raise any questions or concerns to the School Advisory committee. The next SAC meeting is Wednesday 16 May 2018 at 4:30 PM in the school library.
